Our Work
Meeting the needs of children
Our children's ministry began with the work of missionaries
who sought out homeless children and orphans choosing to live on
the streets instead of the state-run orphanage. With the help of
local Christians in Romanian, the organization's founder,
Niculina Bistriceanu, was able to start a regular schedule of
providing meals and clothing to these children.
The Daniel Ministry currently provides meals, clothes,
showers, laundry facilities, and Bible lessons for 80-160
children. These services are made possible solely by the
individual and church sponsors in the United States.
Future goals include increasing the number of children served
and raising enough funds to convert the property into a private
orphanage. The current property is not equipped to meet the
needs for the number of children needing assistance.
 Meeting the needs of families
The Romanian economy has been in the grips of a multi-year
recession period combined with hyperinflation. Prices for staple
goods have increased by 80-100% each year while wages remain
constant at an average of $100 per month.
Employment is difficult to obtain, and for most unskilled
workers, earning a living wage is impossible. In this
long-running crisis situation the needs are great. Many families
are forced to survive by an expense not related to daily living
- often times this means children are abandoned to the care of
government or NGO custody.
The Daniela Ministry seeks to help these families by
providing clothing, blankets, shoes, and food staples. Our
commitment is to supply them with any resources made available
through the donations our sponsors.
Your assistance makes it possible for children and families
to remain together and gives them hope as the economy gradually
improves and work becomes available again.
